SMC Global First - Purchases MEMSSTAR™ systems
SMC has successfully installed two new leading edge pieces of MEMS processing equipment, specifically developed by Point 35 Microstructures to meet the growing technology requirements for advanced MEMS development and manufacture. The MEMSSTAR™ product family offers unique processing capability for the removal of sacrificial layers and the subsequent treatment of the newly released MEMS surface, and can be used by developers and manufacturers to address their needs in sensors, biomems, displays, optical MEMS, RF MEMS, and CMOS integration with MEMS. Point 35 has based it's R&D efforts within the SMC and will continue to offer customer demonstration facilities there as the operations of the company continue to grow at Starlaw in Livingston.
